How do we make Innovation a Reality?

There is a big difference between Innovation and Creativity

Innovation is a process which starts with a need and finishes with a revenue generating or cost saving, or both, conclusion. Creativity is that part of the innovation process which generates the new and different ideas which are then honed, refined, bounced off walls, tested, challenged and built on by the rest of the innovation process. Creativity sits inside innovation.

In other words, creativity produces fantastic ideas, with loads of potential – which are just that – fantastic ideas with loads of potential until they are made workable by an innovation process.

Why Innovate?

A quick look at the business literature will answer this one for you. Look in any business magazine/journal/book/course and the extolling of innovation will appear. The business world, in virtually every sector you can think of, has to constantly change, to deliver more services at the same or less cost, to beat the competition, to make more profit.

Why do you want or need to Innovate?
…and change? Well apart from the obvious business issues of growth, competition, profit making, value for money service delivery…our belief is

  • Most people were born to create, build and grow, its genetically engineered
  • It feels great
  • Its fun and engaging

And it makes for better performance in many ways, be it generating new products, making the organisation a great place to work, fantastic customer service, great team working.
